The polarization character of electromagnetic wave has been applied gradually in communication,navigation and radar,such as the program “Design and Research of the Full-polarization Microwave Radiometer Calibration Structure” which was consigned to Machinery Institute,Jilin University by National Space Science Center,NSSC was the application of this field.In order to control the polarization state of electromagnetic wave effectively,NSSC designed a different artificial medium which was based on a closed loop structure(abbreviated wire grid polarizer).The wire grid polarizer is composed of a closed loop structure and the dielectric basement.It can separate incoming unpolaried electromagnetic wave into horizontal polarization and vertical polarization electromagnetic wave signal.At the same time,the wire grid polarizer can be combined with a metal reflector to form a phase generator,it can be used to convert the linearly polarized signal part after the polarization separator to the circular polarization signal.At present,most of the wire grid polarizer used in our country are imported with expensive price;however the main internal process method is manual winding with low precision and long production cycle.It is based on the situation that the NSSC consigned to Machinery Institute,Jilin University to do the beforehand research of wire winding device.The main contents of this paper are as follows:1)Explicit the technical requirements and primary mission of beforehand research,collect and reorganize the literature of twining device and read up.2)The overall design scheme of the device is proposed according to the technical requirements and reference documentation.Both the function and structure of the device are classified.The whole device is composed of a mechanical part and control system.The mechanical part is composed of a support structure,line frame rotary motion mechanism,cable slide linear motion mechanism and constant tension servo line mechanism.The control system consists of a wire frame rotary motion control system and motion control system which is composed of linear motion control system.3)Using CATIA software for the parts involved in the device to make threedimensional modeling,then fitting them together to be a mechanism,and finally assembled them into a complete device.ANSYS Workbench is used to optimize the main parts,and the parts are designed to meet the strength and stiffness,the static analysis and modal analysis of the key parts are also carried out.4)Design optimization of control system.5)Manufacturing and assembly debugging;machining experiment after complete the assembly of the machine.Then test the wire grid polarizer and help optimize function of the device according to the test results,so as to meet the technical requirements.The experimental results show that the device can meet the requirements of the design of the wire grid polarizer in both the structure design and control circuit design.In addition,the device itself can work uninterrupted,greatly improving the production efficiency.In this paper,a set of innovative solutions are proposed to produce wire grid polarizer.The test results show that the device has the characteristics of adjustable tension stability,low noise,long continuous working time,high reliability,and automatic shutdown of unmanned supervision.It can produce wire grid polarizer with different wire diameter,different space and different size,the wire grid polarizer has the advantages of uniform spacing and high flatness accuracy,which is beneficial to the development of the fabrication of a wire grid polarizer to the direction of intelligence and precision.
