Study On Rural Public Space Landscape Design Based On Garden City Theory

China’s urbanization has been on the move since the 20 st century and ste pped up a decade later,which is the quickest urbanization on the largest scale in human history.In recent years,as the rural economy develops rapidly and the Internet access prevails,villagers’ life style and consumption concept are in the course of transformation,gradually close to urbanization and modernization.These NEW villagers badly need a new rural picture,a modernized and tech nological living environment,whereas the basic services the government provid e are far from meeting their increasing needs.Therefore,how to make the lan dscape design of rural public area meet the villagers’ needs is the present research question.Research on the landscape design of rural public area is well organized and structured.This paper applies research methods of literature review,quantitativequantitative-conbined analysis,field method,case comparison,experimental approach,etc.To the research of the landscape design of rural public area.It develops as follows.Chapter One incorporates the background information,the significance and distinctiveness of the landscape design of rural public area;the concepts of garden city theory,public area,village,rural public area and its patterns;the literature review and practical experience abroad,the literature review,practical development and current research situation at home;this paper’s research purpose,significance,subjects,methodology and technical route.Chapter Two,by comparing the rural planning and design of the U.S.,Japan and Zhejiang Province,concludes the current situation,merits and shortcomings of rural planning and design,and the objectives,principles and methods of rural landscape design.In Chapter Three,the landscape planning and design of rural public area of Shagengzhongxin Village,Nangang County,Shucheng Town,Anhui Province exemplifies the application of theoretical analysis and conclusions above to a true case.It illustrates and verifies the design theories and planning methods above.Specific design sketch and notes are provided.Chapter Four concludes the whole paper.In rural landscape design,the landscape design of public area is a significant element.Due to rural structure layout,deeply-rooted living and working fashion and traditional concepts,rural public area is the most active space for villagers’ daily routines,a manifestation of rural wellbeing and solidarity,a crucial sign of rural face,and playing an indispensable role in rural economic development,human culture diffusion and conservation,and rural industry transformation.
