Since 1990 s,AC-AC chopper has been a research hotspot in the field of power conversion.AC-AC chopper is an AC power electronic device which will transform a frequency and amplitude of AC power become another kind of frequency and amplitude,it is often used in industrial lighting,household appliances,motor soft-start and fan speed etc..At present,50 Hz AC-AC chopper is the most widely used,however,it's more theoretical research,practical application strategy is less.This article from the perspective of practical application,in-depth study of the single AC-AC buck chopper,put forward a set of single phase AC-AC buck chopper(hereinafter called AC buck converter)design method.Finally,the key parameters of the system are analyzed in detail and the future development direction of AC Buck converter is explained.Firstly,starting from the DC-DC converter,the basic principle of AC Buck converter is deduced in detail,and the control timing problem is analyzed.The feasibility of AC Buck converter is proved from the theoretical point of view.Then,the main parameters of the output filter inductor,filter capacitor and RCD buffer circuit are analyzed theoretically,and a series of calculation formulas are obtained combined with the practical application,which lays the foundation for the following PSPICE simulation.The PSPICE simulation is mainly used in the circuit principle and functional verification of the Pre-project.Based on the theoretical derivation and the actual requirements of the converter,the AC Buck converter simulation circuit is constructed.The simulation results show the limitations of the theoretical analysis in practical application.By comparing with the waveform analysis results and the load current and the peak voltage of switching devices as the core,this paper presents a set of parameter selection methods for practical application.It lays the foundation for the prototype debugging and experimental analysis.Based on the simulation,a prototype of power 1KW is built.The experimental results show that the RCD snubber circuit can effectively solve the problem of dead time in the circuit.The output ripple current and output ripple voltage of the converter are small,and there is no distortion of the output voltage when the output voltage is zero,which verifies the excellent performance of the AC Buck converter.
