The automobile is an indispensable means of transport,and it has been inextricably linked to people's life,However with the number of vehicle ownership rapidly increasing,it not only led to rapidly increase in vehicle emissions,but also led to accelerating depletion of energy resource.The pressure of energy shortage and environmental pollution promote the current adjustment of the automobile industry structure,traditional fuel vehicles are replaced by the new energy vehicles that meet the requirements of social sustainable development,it is becoming an inevitable trend.Before the technical problems of energy storage batteries get overcome completely,develop the hybrid electric vehicle is the best choice.Because ParallelSeries hybrid electric vehicles have the advantages of both Parallel hybrid electric vehicle and Series hybrid electric vehicle.Therefore,it is the most promising type of hybrid electric vehicles.At first,this paper introduces the advantages and principle of energy saving and emission reduction of hybrid electric vehicles,in addition,compares and analyzes the structure,working modes,advantages and disadvantages of the three types hybrid electric vehicles.Explains the classic hybrid electric vehicle---Toyota Prius in detail.This paper takes parallel-Series hybrid electric vehicle as research object,powertrain structure and the parameters needed are provided by the company.Firstly,analyze the powertrain and the characteristics of engine and motor systematically and comprehensively.Established a hybrid electric vehicle forward and backWard simulation model,using a combination method of experimental modeling and theoretical modeling,supplied the necessary conditions for the follow-up study of vehicle powertrain and its control strategy.Analyze and design the control strategy of the hybrid electric vehicle based on the principle that the engine has a minimum fuel consumption.Finally,operate simulation model using MATLAB/Simulink with ECE+EUDC driving cycle to calculate the fuel economy and power and test the vehicle model and the control strategy.
