A Study On The Restoration Of Traditional Colored Drawing On Xizhimen In Beijing

The ancient architectural painting as an important part of the traditional wooden architecture,has obvious characteristics of the oriental culture,which contains rich cultural connotation and Oriental philosophy,after years of development,has become a complete set of system design and construction.Its functions include protection of timber,to distinguish between function and level of construction,building decoration art and pray for good fortune.The city of Beijing during the Ming and Qing Dynasties respectively by the Forbidden City,the Imperial City,the inner city,four outside the city walls and the corresponding gate of the Forbidden City,and the imperial city of eight gates the highest level;the inner city,surrounded by a rampart is accessed through 9 city gates,and the outer city,surrounded by a rampart is accessed through 7 city gates is low,therefore,the painting function clearly show hierarchy.In the course of historical changes,only one of the four layers of the city wall is still existing,and the tower is also running out,and the city will disappear with the color of the upstairs.The author out of the Chinese traditional architectural culture,will completely recover nearly half a century traditional eaves painting in the Xizhimen tower decorated with a complete restoration of the interior and exterior.Due to the difference level between towers,the author wil do it with reference for Deshengmen watchtower which is in the same tower level.It is difficult to restore the design out of limited color painting information.First of all,the author starts with the literature review,searches the historical archives,and looks for the traces of the history of Xizhimen and the same grade gate.The author found Chongwenmen and Andingmen architecture and painting materials in China first historical archives,providing strong evidence of the Xizhimen tower painting design;secondly,the late Qing Dynasty some foreign photographer for the Beijing City captured image data,through the study of the image part of the color pattern and black and white ash,combined with the practice process the traditional architectural painting,color painting of Xizhimen tower is determined;then,refer to the relevant existing historical sites in Zhengyang,access gate tower and watchtower and the Deshengmen watchtower painting information as evidence.According to the specific rules of large wooden structure buildings of Ming and Qing Dynasty,the full recovery of Xizhimen tower painting from top to bottom,from outside to inside,which relates to the construction of wooden structural components in various parts of the painting composition,pattern,color and craft and other professional content.After careful study,the formation of a relatively complete set of color painting in Xizhimen.The author uses digital restoration technology of building up protection,learn from the artistic perspective,explore vanished architectural painting art,study on the repair method so as to enrich the color protection of ancient buildings,provide a reference for the practice and the protection of ancient buildings,carry forward the excellent Chinese traditional architectural culture,recreate the ancient charm of Beijing treasures.
