Whether the mechanical system can work well is affected by the large slewing bearing,it is an important mechanical component in mechanical system.The load is delivered from one ring to another by rolling body when the large slewing bearing works.And the load is different from each other.The bearing performance and life are affected by the size of work load,stress and the stress's cycle number at each point of the raceway.It is called contact load distribution in rolling bearings.Contact load distribution of slewing bearing was always studied with some theoretical algorithms.There is hardly any measure method of contact load of slewing bearing have been proposed.And no equipment has been made for it.This dissertation is supported by National Natural Science Funds of China and it is aimed at the experimental research of the contact load distribution in rolling bearings.Indirect measurement of contact load of slewing bearing was made in the paper.Displacement of measured surface was measured by eddy current displacement sensor and the displacement of the measured surface is converted to the contact load.The problem of contact load or contact deformation can't be measured directly because of the contact stress is very large(more than 1GPa)was solved.Structural design and strength study of the slewing bearing test stand was done,and the test stand have been made finally.Axial force and overturning moment of the slewing bearing was provided by the test stand.The sensor data was collected by OMRON PLC data acquisition module,and results were displayed on touch screen.Distribution of contact load,contact angle and contact ellipse rim angle of slewing bearing in experiment were researched by simplified finite element model of slewing bearing test stand.The influencing of the thickness of hardened layer,actual contact angle and whether the rolling body is aligned with the center of the measured surface for measured surface displacement measurement was studied by the finite element model of contact between rolling element and raceway.The relationship between the displacement of the measured surface and the contact load was researched too.The scheme of converting the measured displacement to contact load was made.Finally,eddy current displacement sensors were calibrated.Slewing bearing and sensors were mounted on the slewing bearing test stand.Contact load distribution of slewing bearing have been measured successfully.And the experimental results have been studied.
