As a clean and renewable energy, the large-scale development and utilization of wind power can reduce people's dependence on the traditional non-renewable energy and alleviate the growing environmental problems. However, the output of the wind farm has a large random fluctuation, which makes that it is necessary to study the power system with wind power. In this paper, the power system of the wind power system is studied. The simulation method of power system and its application in the reliability assessment are also studied. The main work is as follows:This paper first analyzes the characteristics of wind power, and then contrasts the wind speed probability model by the Weibull distribution model. After comparing the negative load model and the multi-state model,we find that multi-state model can accurately describe the characteristics of wind farm output and deicide to use multi-state model for wind farm modeling. Then we analyze the three algorithms of the random simulation of power system. We also calculate and analyze the electric power system of the wind power by using the equivalent power function method. After analyzing,we find that the wind power has a great influence on the output of the system, the equivalent load duration curve as well as the expected value of the system's power shortage and the power shortage probability. At the end of this paper, the comprehensive economic benefits, reserve cost and reliability index of the power system considering the capacity of the spinning reserve are also introduced. The rotating reserve capacity of the wind power grid connected system is considered with the combination of the calculation example. After analysis we find that the spinning reserve capacity will increase with the increase of the number of running motor units, while the comprehensive economic benefits of the system are constantly improved.
