Reservoir optimal operation can realize the comprehensive utilization of water resources,which is helpful to solve the increasingly complex problem of water resources,and plays a very important role in the sustainable development of economy and society.With the change of climate,reservoir function and social demand,the study of reservoir optimal operation becomes very necessary and urgent.According to the actual operation of the reservoir,the optimal scheduling model is established and solved by the efficient method.Combine the scientific research and practical application,the effective scheduling scheme is formulated according to calculation results,which can improve the economic benefit of reservoir operation and provide reference for management decision-makers.This study was carried out under the project of Guxian reservoir optimal scheduling decision support system.Guxian reservoir was taken as the research object,the optimal scheduling model of Guxian reservoir was set up whose the maximum power generation was taken as the objective function and the equation of water balance,water level,power head,generated output,water consumption were taken as the constraint conditions.The genetic algorithm was improved and used to solve the model.The corresponding scheduling scheme was formulated with analyzing the rationality of the results in order to guide the operation of the reservoir.(1)The existing problems in reservoir operation were analyzed.The existing problems of the current operation were analyzed according to the results of reservoir operation over the years,the present situation of the reservoir and the relevant plan.First,the power generation of reservoir always operated under the low water head,and the water consumption is high;Second,amount of water are abandoned with the limit of the flood control level in the flood season,and there are insufficient power generation head after the flood season;Third,The current scheduling scheme can not meet the demand due to the increase of water supply planning to Luoyang and other areas.(2)Constructed and soluted of the reservoir optimal operation model.Based on the basic rules of reservoir operation,the optimal scheduling model of Guxian reservoir was set up whose the maximum power generation was taken as the objective function and the equation of water balance,water level,power head,generated output,were taken as the constraint conditions.The genetic algorithm was improved based on the changed water level coding.The water level process was screened of by equation of water balance in the improved algorithm,and the artificial scheduling experience was taken as the heuristic information to optimize the initial population of the algorithm,the adaptive operations of crossover and mutation were carried.And the evolution degree was taken as the judging condition of algorithm termination.The algorithm flow is designed to solve the problem of optimal scheduling model.(3)Analyzed on the optimal operation results of Guxian reservoir.The optimal operation models such as operation conventional optimal scheduling,optimal scheduling considering rainfall evaporation and optimal scheduling considering water supply plan were set up to calculate the optimal scheduling.The results of the conventional optimal scheduling are compared with the results of the dynamic programming to verify the validity of the algorithm.The results showed that the process and trend of optimization level by the two algorithms was similary,the improved genetic algorithm is suitable for reservoir optimal operation which can get the higher precision and more generation.(4)The reservoir optimal scheduling scheme was formulated.The analysis of optimal scheduling results showed that the rainfall and evaporation have little effect on the power generation and water level,the power generation and the average water level of the reservoir were reduced by the water supply planning.At the same time,the water supply increases total economic benefits.Combined with reservoir water supply planning,the flow rates of different typical years were 5m3/s,3m3/s,and 2m3/s,respectively.The average generation head of flood season were 75.3m,75.2m and 72.1m,respectively.And non-flood season were 78.5m,75.8m and 74.3m,respectively.The optimal scheduling scheme of Guxian reservoir was formulated to provide reference for the operation and management of the Guxian reservoir.
