The performance of manufacturing system,to a certain extent,reflects economic and scientific development level of one country.The pursuit of production efficiency makes the automation of the machine continue to improve.Under this condition,the situation that labor force as the main production resource has been gradually eliminated and in most cases in modern manufacturing system,machines,like customers in queuing system,are served by workers.This transformation of the production model changes the nature and effect of the person in the manufacturing system.The main research object of the past works is the hardware in the manufacturing system because the reliability of the machine directly determines the level of production efficiency,and the size of the buffer capacity plays a decisive role in the anti-interference ability of the production line.But with the development of modern industry,compared with the more reliable and intelligent hardware,people have become a new factor restricting its development.Therefore,it is of great theoretical and practical significance to study and analyze the influence of people on the performance of manufacturing system.This paper discusses and analyzes the modeling methodology of one-man-multi-machine tandem manufacturing system with human factors by using queuing theory and Markov process.In this paper,decomposition technique is the core part.Based on the jobs of workers,the tandem manufacturing system can be divided into several subsystems to study.By developing an iterative algorithm,those subsystems are connected and the whole system is efficiently solved,which can better describe the performance of the entire production line.The queuing theory with finite queue length is applied to describe each subsystem.Also,a new production ratio of subsystem is defined as follow: the ratio of the machine processing time(including load and unload time)to the machine processing time(including load and unload time)plus the average waiting time of machines in the queue.In this case,each subsystem can be treated as ‘a special machine'.In the process of iteration,the forward and backward iterative method can effectively deal with the data,and the actual value is more consistent.Base on this,the efficiencyof the whole production line in the practice case is improved by analyzing the influence of different man-machine arrangement strategy on the total efficiency of the production system.In order to verify the effectiveness of the model methodology,MATLAB and Em-plant simulation software are applied.Based on a real case,the results show that,in most cases,the modeling methodology mentioned in this paper can effectively estimate the total production rate of the whole system and the relative error is usually around 3%.
