Vehicle,as main transportation tool,has already become the indispensable “partner” of human being.With the release of “Made in China 2025”and the prosperity of intelligent automobile,requirements for modern vehicles are safer and more comfortable.Suspension,connecting vehicle to its wheels,is responsible for delivering the force and torque between tire and vehicle frame,diminishing impact force coming from the road and softening the vibration.Therefore,suspension's performance is vital to the whole vehicle,including comfort,handling stability and so on.As a force-bearing part in suspension,bushing's mechanical performance is extremely important,not only can bushing soften vibration,reduce noise and compensate manufacturing tolerance,but also can adjust kinematic characteristic and elastic kinematic characteristic of suspension.With the advent of intelligent materials,bushing develops into more intelligent stage.Intelligent bushing is capable of improving vehicle performance by adjusting stiffness according to current condition,and magneto-rheological bushing is even expected to be the next generation of vehicle suspension bushing.Magneto-rheological elastomer is the core of abovementioned intelligent bushing,the research of its mechanical property and the modeling of mechanical property are the basis of further researches.The main contents and conclusions of this paper are stated below:1.Experimental research of magneto-rheological elastomer's mechanical propertyFirst,manufacture magneto-rheological elastomer sample parts that have great mechanical property,including designing making process,preparing relevant molds and structures.Then,develop a magneto-rheological elastomer compression property testing device which is capable of changing magnetic field,the testing device can generate a maximum 0.4T magnetic field.In the end,conduct static compression and dynamic fix-point experiments towards magneto-rheological elastomer sample parts,the results indicate that compression modulus of magneto-rheological elastomer increased nearly 40%.2.Model research of magneto-rheological elastomer's mechanical propertyAccording to magneto-rheological elastomer's high-elasticity and viscoelastic features,build magneto-rheological elastomer mechanical property model based on Yeoh-model and classical-integer-order-viscoelastic-constitutive-model,and conduct model parameters identification.The results indicate that the model proposed in this paper has high accuracy.3.Influence research of bushing stiffness property towards vehicle performanceUsing software Adams/Car to figure out how the bushing stiffness property of double-wishbone front suspension influences vehicle's riding-comfort and handling stability,the results indicate that with the increase of bushing stiffness and suspension stiffness simultaneously,the weighted mean-square value of chassis' vertical acceleration increased and the maximum vehicle roll angle decreased.Meanwhile,conduct sensitivity analysis of double-wishbone front suspension's bushing stiffness property,the results indicate that the stiffness property of upper swing arm's front bushing has great effect on vehicle's riding comfort and handling stability,which is useful to the design and arrangement of magneto-rheological elastomer bushing.4.Design and application simulation of magneto-rheological elastomer bushing structureFirst,considering the mechanical property of double-wishbone suspension upper swing arm's front bushing,design a magneto-rheological elastomer bushing.Then,use software ABAQUS to create magneto-rheological elastomer bushing's finite-element model,obtaining bushing's mechanical property data,and building stiffness mathematical model of magneto-rheological elastomer bushing.In the end,conduct simulations to figure out how the stiffness-adjustable property of magneto-rheological elastomer bushing influences vehicle's riding comfort and handling stability,the results indicate that vehicle's riding comfort and handling stability can be improved by altering current,which helps to popularize the application of magneto-rheological elastomer bushing.This paper discussed the mechanical property of magneto-rheological elastomer,proposed mechanical models of magneto-rheological elastomer's high-elasticity and viscoelastic,presented structural design of magneto-rheological elastomer bushing,all of which establish the foundation of magneto-rheological elastomer's application and vehicle performance improvement.
