The horizontal electronic accelerator pedal has the advantages of saving fuel,high safety and sensitivity,and meeting the requirement of ergonomics.Therefore,the horizontal electronic accelerator pedal gradually become the main trend of the accelerator pedal.At present,the horizontal accelerator pedal on the market mostly has a large volume,and it needs a larger installed space,this is not suitable for small cars;on the other side,its user experience is poor,drivers are easier to become fatigue.Therefore,independently researching and developing a good user experience,ergonomic,and structural safety,high reliability of a accelerator pedal is significance.Based on the above objectives,the main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Introducing the research background of the paper,as well as the classification and working principle of electronic accelerator pedal.Based on ergonomics,referring to related body size standards and the main limbs angle of drivers when they sit in the cab,the main size?work angel?trample force of the pedal are studied firstly,paving the way for further design.(2)For the appearance of the pedal,the first step is to analyze the effect of pedal pattern design on driver's operating experience.Firstly,analysis the pattern regularity of shoes back surface.Then,analysis the existing shoes pattern on the market,combining the two analysis results together,selecting a better pattern which can give the driver better experience.On the basis of the design of the external dimension and the pedal pattern,the preliminary appearance design of the pedal is made.(3)In order to improve the driver's operating experience and reduce drivers' fatigue,the damping structure of the accelerator pedal is redesigned.First of all,the mechanism of several common damping forms used in the structural design is studied.Then,the damping structure of the pedal is further designed according to the principle of these damping.Four different damping structure schemes are designed and simulated by software Adams.Finally,selecting a best scheme from the aspects of safety,stability and economy.(4)Based on the design of appearance and internal damping structure above,the pedal model is created using 3D modeling software Solidworks.Then,the 3D model is imported into the CAE pre-processing mesh software Hypermesh,creating the finite element model of the accelerator pedal,then using finite element analysis software Abaqus to calculate the stiffness and strength of the finite element model of the accelerator pedal,and the pedal is optimized according to the calculation results of the accelerator pedal.(5)Finally,the final model of the accelerator pedal is rendered by Keyshot.At the same time,the accelerator pedal model is imported into the cab model to observe the whole effect of the accelerator pedal in the cab.
