Electronic accelerator pedal is a key component of the electronic throttlecontrol system, which not only has great influents on the automobile dynamical,comfort and economic performance, but also on the traffic safety. At present, thedomestic detection devices for electronic accelerator pedal have the disadvantages ofsimple function, poor efficiency, low precision, and automation, which are only forsimple performance testing, and still set the programming parameters for pedalposition sensor manually. Therefore, independently researching and developing a fullyfunctional and reliable online test system is significant for ensuring the quality ofelectronic accelerator pedal, production efficiency and traffic safety.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Firstly, introduces the structure and working principle of electronic acceleratorpedal, and analyzes the performance indicators and the major test projects ofelectronic accelerator pedal from the mechanical and electrical characteristicsrespectively.Secondly, in accordance with the related industrial standards, develop the designscheme of the performance test system for electronic accelerator pedal. The systemcan test the mechanical and electrical characteristics of electronic accelerator pedal.According to the actual demand for production, design serial communication moduleto realize parameters online calibration functions for accelerator pedal position sensor,which improves the efficiency and automation level of production and test. Inaddition, using radial basis function neural network and Particle Swarm Optimizationalgorithm, realizes the adjustment and calibration function for the voltage output ofelectronic accelerator pedal, which can effectively reduce the defective rate ofelectronic accelerator pedal production.The hardware platform of test system consists of industrial control computer, aserial communication module, servo motion control modules, as well as dataacquisition and processing module, etc. With Visual C++6.0software as adevelopment environment, the test software utilize multithread technology andmodular design concept, to implement the functions of human-computer interaction, servo motion control, etc.Thirdly, according to the test conditions of industry standards, test and analysisdifferent models of electronic accelerator pedal with the test system. In accordancewith Guide to evaluation ways of special metering device (JBT10633-2006), evaluatethe functionality, accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility of the test system by aseries of tests. The evaluation results show that the test system meets the demands ofpractical production, and consists with the new equipment acceptance requirements ofGuide to evaluation ways of special metering device with measuring capability index(Cg/Cgk)≥2.0,%GRR≤20%.At present, the test system has been successfully applied to several companies inproduction testing of the electronic accelerator pedal, such as Ningbo Gaofaautomotive control systems company limited, Xiamen Jieou automotive electronicscompany limited, etc.
