Traditional Architectural Elements Of Transformation Research In The Design Of Concept Car

With the rapid development of domestic automobile industry,the automobile enterprise in China has a fast growth.However,there is still an obvious distance in automobile industry between developed countries and China.Combined with the development history of automobile,many foreign famous brands have formed their unique style and DNA,which is got from long term development and instant accumulation.World famous car designer,George Yarrow once said that the car design in China was lacking in Chinese elements.The automobile industry began late in China,there is a necessary process of grope to mature in manufacturing technology and ideas and methods of design.We have been aware of the importance of domestic brands and style since 2004 so that Chinese elements would be applied in car design.Moreover,due to the lack of deep exploration and research in cultural levels and transformation way of nation,the shape of forms is only remained on surface.The application of Chinese element symbol is just briefly mechanically applied in transplantation of ’shape’,which lead to maladjustment of function and formation.On basis of the analysis of car style of automobile industry in developed countries,this article is aimed to analyze and probe advanced theories in car design.In allusion to the situations and problems in domestic car design,this article presents and analyzes the traditional architectural elements.At the same time,the author will extract the Chinese elements and fully consider the relation between function and forms of cars,which will be attended to extract and apply Chinese elements of traditional architectures into design of concept car.At the end of this article,the author practice and explore the transformation of Chinese elements during the process of car body design.Although it is immature and plain,a beneficial attempt has been made.
