With the rapid expansion of urban scale,the distribution network has become increasingly complex.Therefore,in order to solve the increasingly complex fault of distribution network,the corresponding fault detection and location technology has become a hot issue.At present,most of the researches are focused on the construction of a fault indication system using a principle,which can not achieve the actual fault detection and location in different types and different situations.Therefore,this paper conducts researches below based on the practical project:This paper briefly introducd the working principle and the hardware and software designing schemes of the system,and gave the design and maintenance of the system software interface.The design objects of fault indicator for the overhead distribution line mainly included the acquisition unit,the collection unit and the matching external signal generator.The function of acquisition unit are that discriminating short circuit and ground fault,alarming through the flash and floping,collecting phase current,electric field and other information,and uploading the fault signal,load current information to the collection unit;collection unit can be access to acquisition unit,receiving and processing the fault and current information of the corresponding distribution line uploaded by the acquisition unit,at the same time communicating with the master station of the distribution automation system;this paper presents the surface structure,sizes and signs,key components selection,technical parameters,circuit design and other contexts of the fault indicator and the external signal generating device.Finally,this paper briefly introduced the concrete implementation scheme of the fault indication system using on 10 kV Lingqian lines and its schematic diagram was given.On this basis,the installation and using methods of each part in the fault indicator and communication concentrator were elaborately described,and the actual installation diagram was given,so that the power system operation personnel can be familiar with the method of the system as soon as possible,achieving the goal of eliminating the faults quickly.
