With the development of economy and the progress of society,people's demand for power consumption is increasing,and the demand for power quality and reliability is also increasing.However,many distribution lines and complex operation structure lead to frequent accidents in our country,so how to ensure the safe operation of distribution network has become a core issue of concern to the power system department.In order to realize the safe operation of distribution network,it is necessary to find,solve and reply early.At present,there are many kinds of fault detection methods for distribution network,but the effect is not ideal.Frequent faults can not be handled in time,which has brought serious losses to the national economy.In view of the above problems,this paper proposes a method of fault.detection in distribution network by using fault indicator.In this paper,PIC24F MCU is used to complete the design of fault indicator,and the detection principle is explained.The fault indicator detects short-circuit fault according to the sudden change and duration of line current,and realizes the detection of grounding fault based on signal injection method.The anti-interference ability of the fault indicator is also analyzed,and the power supply module of the indicator is optimized.The main power supply mode is CT power supply and super capacitor power supply,and the auxiliary power supply mode is lithium battery power supply to ensure the reliability of the indicator for a long time.Fault location system is composed of a fault indicator with communication function,a communication concentrator with information transfer function and a master station with GIS system.When a fault occurs,the indicator collects signals and uploads fault information to the concentrator through the ZigBee module of close communication.The concentrator uploads information to the master station through GPRS.The primary station calculates the fault overcurrent by constructing the network information matrix and the fault information matrix according to the matrix algorithm to realize the fault segment positioning.Finally,the performance test and field test of the fault indicator are carried out.
