Insufficient reactive power and substandard voltage quality are the long-term problems in China's rural distribution network.The commonly used parallel capacitor compensation can not solve the voltage quality problem of the weak distribution network.Therefore,how to use the series compensation to improve the end of the rural power grid voltage to protect the quality of residential electricity has become the power companies need to address the key issues.The research of this paper is to study the application of series compensation technology in 10 kV distribution network(rural network).In the process of this research,the theoretical basis and analysis method of series capacitor compensation are analyzed.The adaptability of series capacitance compensation in 10 kV network is discussed.According to the analysis,it can be seen that the effect of series capacitor compensation on different types of load: the lower the load power factor,the more obvious the voltage regulation effect of series capacitor compensation;for both smooth load and fluctuating load,series compensation can effectively reduce system voltage deviation and suppress the voltage fluctuation.Aiming at the problems existing in the use of series compensation,firstly,the ferromagnetic resonance phenomenon caused by the series compensation capacitor is simulated in this paper.Then,according to the abnormal voltage caused by it,a new scheme is proposed to change the compensation degree by using the reactance coil with saturation characteristic.The simulation results show that the scheme proposed in this paper has a good effect on suppressing ferroresonance and improving the voltage quality.Based on the theoretical research,this paper applies the series compensation scheme to the ultra-long distance line of 10 kV rural power network in Hechi area of Guangxi.The specific series compensation program is been determined.Through technical and economic analysis,it can be seen that,due to the effect of series capacitor,the voltage quality at the end of the line has been improved,and the transmission capability has been greatly enhanced.It effectively alleviates the bottleneck due to the low terminal voltage.This study not only validates the applicability of series compensation technology in 10 kV rural distribution network,but also constructs a new series compensation scheme,which provides a new solution to improve the transmission capability of 10 kV rural distribution network.At the same time,it also provides reference for other power grid to set up the compensation scheme in series.
