As one type of important auxiliary machineries,seawater pump is widely used on warships and civil ships, for which noise and vibration control is significant to improve ship acoustic stealthy and comfort ability. The traditional passive vibration isolation technology is mainly effective for high-frequency vibration control,but the effectiveness is not satisfactory at low frequency. In this thesis, investigation on electromagnetic vibration absorber design and its application to the active vibration control experiment of seawater pump is carried out. The main work included as follows:Firstly, the dynamic characteristics of actuator were analyzed based on the dynamic principle of active vibration control system, and the main parameters that affect the actuator output performance have been obtained and simulated by using MATLAB. Then the magnetic circuit design were analyzed by using ANSOFT MAXWELL and afterward validated theoretically. Optimal design parameters including armature thickness, gap width and the thickness of the outer sleeve have been determined.Taking all factors into consideration, the prototype design for sea water pump active vibration control was performed, and a set of electromagnetic vibration absorber design process was summarized for future electromagnetic vibration absorber development which has a certain significance. Using this procedure, a design of actuator for active structural acoustic control was also presented. The test of prototype output was conducted and the measured result was analyzed and compared with the theoretically predicted ones.Finally, based on the experimental bench, this thesis carried out active vibration control experiment of seawater pump with dSPACE system and self-developed inertial electromagnetic actuator. The error path identification test program and active control program are built up in dSPACE system. Selecting rotation speed as reference signal and varying the pipe flow, a series of active vibration control test are carried out, which experimentally verify the effectiveness of initiative of electromagnetic vibration absorber and provide some favorable reference of its design and application.
