In this paper,the modeling technology of torque converter is studied.The accuracy of the model is directly determines the hydraulic torque converter simulation results,based on the analysis of various factors that affect the accuracy of the torque converter model,a new method to improve the accuracy of the torque converter turbine model is proposed.The three dimensional flow line of the torque converter is designed with three dimensional arc and three dimensional straight line segments,the three dimensional streamline can be seen as the intersection of a sphere and a plane,the axial streamline equation of the torque converter is derived from the three-dimensional streamline equation and then based on the axial surface streamline equation of circular circle,axial surface streamline was deduced the calculating formula of the radius of curvature and curvature center coordinates,using the numerical method can get the radius of curvature and curvature center coordinates with polar Angle change rule.According to the change rule,by using the non-elementary function,which is a method of approximating the axial streamline by the piecewise arc,the equations are verified by the program.The program not only can obtain the center coordinates,each arc radius and arc starting and ending points of the polar angle,but also can obtain the maximum absolute error of piecewise arc approximation and the maximum relative error,it is easy to judge whether the results meet the requirements of precision.The Autocad software and UG software are used to realize the semi-automatic modeling of the hydraulic torque converter.After the torque converter turbine model is constructed,it is imported in Gambit software to mesh,then in Fluent software for numerical calculation and the law of flow field analysis,it is concluded that the regularity of the distribution of pressure and velocity in the flow passage.The results show that the three dimensional flow linedesigned with three dimensional arc and three dimensional straight line segments can improve the flow field parameter distribution and improve the performance of the torque converter;On the other hand,it is shown that the modeling technique is feasible and can improve the accuracy of the model,have engineering use value.
