Fused Deposition Modeling(FDM), one of the rapid prototyping manufacturing technology, has a rapid development in recent decades years. Because of no need laser, wide material and limited area, It is widely used in the product development, rapid mold design, medical apparatus design and production of.human organs. It is the most important development direction of rapid prototyping manufacturing technology. However, the precision of the product is a key factor to limit the development of Fused Deposition Modeling. So, This paper combine the process parameters of FDM, using" birth and death" element technology of the finite analysis software ANSYS to simulate the temperature and stress in the process of FDM. In order to get the effect of process parameters to product precisionThis paper summarize the defect of FDM products and the influence factor to accuracy. It is the error of modeling system, loss of signification in CAD model’s discretization, the influence of layer thickness, the influence of spinneret’s width and the dimension error of material’s shrink. Also, Related experiment was done for the surface quality and warping deformation of the product, and get influence factor and effect rule.Studied the finite element simulation about the temperature field of FDM. Based on the character of FDM, the paper make a reasonable assumption, establish the analysis model of FDM’s temperature filed, and get temperature changes over time of each point, temperature gravity and influence of different scanning velocity and scanning path.Using thermal-structure coupling, apply the analysis results of temperature field to the stress and strain field to do the simulation as the initial condition, and get the distribution of stress and strain in different scanning vetocity and scanning path. Also we do some comparison of stress and strain in different scanning vetocity with the same scanning path and in different scanning path with the same scanning velocity. The analysis obtained the influence regularity of the scanning path and scanning velocity to the stress and strain field.The research, which contains experiment research of the parameters on the surface quality and warping deformation and simulation research on the temperature field, stress and strain field, can provided the reference to the precise and quality control of Fused Deposition Modeling.
