As a new type of concrete pile with variable cross section,the branch pile has been widely used in various projects with a relatively mature technology now for its characteristics of small settlement,high bearing capacity,reasonable economy and good engineering application prospect.However,due to the diversity and complexity of its influencing factors,domestic and foreign experts and scholars' research on the shape of the support plate,the reasonable plate spacing,the influence of the support plate stress has not been deeply conducted yet;there is still a lack of reliable experimental analysis and accurate theoretical results.Based on consulting a large number of domestic and foreign literatures,this paper uses laboratory model test and finite element simulation method to study the effects of various plate shapes with different plate spacing on the bearing capacity of the branch pile by changing the distance between the support plates and their shapes.The main research contents are as follows:(1)Study the bearing capacity and deformation characteristics of the branch pile under the condition of different plate spacing and shapesthrough the laboratory model test.(2)Analyze the results of laboratory tests,such as pile top load,pile's settlement and earth pressure around pile,to obtain the bearing capacity's changing regulation.(3)Study the influence factors such as reasonable plate spacing and shape by using the finite element software ABAQUS to establish numerical models and simulate different types of branch pile.(4)Compare the photos taken at the experimental site and the numerical value of earth pressure around pile,obtain the stress transfer law and the influence range of the double plates pile under the action of pressure load,and provide the theoretical basis for later research.
