To the interconnected power grid without electrical damping,tripping operation of tie line and system splitting caused by low frequency oscillation seriously threaten the safety and stability of power system.TCSC is an important device of Flexible AC Transmission System,which can play the role of damping low frequency oscillation.Based on the analysis of the characteristics of TCSC and its control strategy,the mechanism of TCSC damping low frequency oscillation is discussed.Put forward a new neural network model(PIO-BP)based on the Pigeon-inspired Optimization,set the parameter of TCSC controller via PIO-BP neural network.The simulation results show that compared to the PID control,the TCSC controller based on PIO-BP neural network realizes an adaptive control.When big interference comes about,the low frequency oscillation can be quelled more quickly.Aiming at the poor effect of TCSC for damping low frequency oscillation in multiple FACTS systems,propose a multi-objective optimization(MOPIO)algorithm.Coordinate multiple FACTS devices and take SVC and TCSC for example.Results of simulation show that the designed controller can meet the requirements of robustness for damping low frequency oscillation.
