With the development of science and technology and the progress of the times, the problem of population aging is becoming more and more serious. There is an increasing number of elderly people who are disabled or semi disabled. At the same time, people with disabilities in our country is growing larger and larger. The number of people who are disabled in the lower limb is the largest in physical disabilities, they need to rely on aids in order to carry out normal activities.In order to save the city space and make effective utilization of the land, the using of the building is very popular. However, those with disabilities, some disabled or semi disabled elderly, need to be in the wheelchair to perform normal activities, and the wheelchair cannot play its role when facing the steps and some of the slopes. When the porters need to move heavy goods upstairs, they lose a lot of energy, in these cases, they need a device to help them climb up the stairs.The demands of the disabled elderly, lower limb disabled and porters were analyzed in the thesis,then ensured the position of stair-climbing machine,compared several typical stair-climbing machines, selected the proper way, gave several mechanism schemes and determined the climbing principle. Given the main dimensions through ergonomics analysis,carried out the mechanism design, chose the materials and had a mechanical check. The kinematic analysis of the designed transmission components were carried out to comprehend the motion characteristics, verify the feasibility of the scheme. On the aspect of control, the author designed the main control flow chart, gave the main function of stair-climbing machine. In terms of appearance and use, the author used two kinds of appearance, showed the details of parts, as well as the use of different modules display. At last, the cost-effective stair-climbing machine was designed out to assist the disabled elderly, lower limb disabled and porters.
