Arch structure is mainly based on compression,with a strong stiffness,but the cross ability is limited by its stability.Suspension structure is mainly dominated by tension,with a strong ability to cross,but its structural stiffness is low,and the huge tension of the cable must be beard by the anchor.In order to maintain the advantages of arch structure and suspension structure,try to overcome the shortcomings of the two structures,a new type of composite bridge-cable arch bridge is proposed in this paper,single cable arch bridge,continuous cable arch bridge and super-wide cable arch bridge.This structure cleverly combines rigid arch bridges with flexible suspension bridges.The main structural feature of the bridge is that both ends of the cable are anchored on the arch foot,and the load is shared by the arch and the cable.Arch is both load-bearing components,but also play the role of anchorage;The cable is both a load-bearing member and a tie-rod action,and the thrust generated by the arches and the load generated by the load is balanced by the horizontal tension produced by the load of the cable.Thus the original two kinds of structure defects will be eliminated.In this paper,the structure and mechanics principle of cable arch bridge have been given,and the mechanical properties of cable arch are studied deeply.The structural strength,stiffness,stability characteristics,dynamic characteristics,temperature response and non-uniform settlement of cable arch bridge have been analyzed by finite element software.At the same time,the structure and construction of single-arch bridge have been designed.The results show that the bearing capacity and strength bearing capacity of cable arch bridge are greatly improved and the stiffness decreases slightly compared with the traditional arch bridge with the same span and cross section.The new type of composite bridge inherits the characteristics of high capacity of suspension bridge,and inherits the characteristics of arch rigidity,but also adds the aesthetic value of bridge.
