PXI (PCI extension for Instrument) bus is a PCI bus extension in testing and instrumentation. It is a bus standard that based on module characteristics,which is first proposed by National Instruments (NI) in 1997. PXI bus is being applied to more and more testing systems, for its high performance price ratio, excellent portability, open architecture and ease of maintenance, etc. According to the actual needs of a missile testing system, the PXI bus based test system project is designed.At the beginning, we analyzed the characteristic of the specific type of missile and discussed the overall testing requirements. According to the parameters of the test system,we proposed the overall design of PXI bus based test system. The whole test system is consists of a PXI-8109 embedded controller,a PXI- 1045 box, a data acquisition module,switch control module and RS-422 and RS-485 communication module. Test system can communicate with the missile and measure the basic electrical parameters, especially the electrical parameters of the missile. The test system meets the portability and reliability requirements of the test system. Then, we employed the Altera IP core and PCI Compiler.PXI bus interface logic is designed and verified in this way. At the same time, we studied the PXI bus interface technology. According to the module's function and technical indicators features from test system, we proposed the designing scheme of every module and carried out the research by focusing on high accuracy and fast switching that relays of the matrix switch module and the key technical problems noise suppression, channel separation, error correction of isolated parallel A/D data acquisition module. We analyzed the current common methods for data acquisition module precision correction, and got the correction parameters based on least square method.At last, this paper introduced the testing system of PXI interface debugging and each function module of software and hardware debugging, and error analysis. The debugging results are based on analysis. The test system that based on PXI bus meets specification request of each performance index and can be used for the actual missile testing.
