The Research On Modeling Design For Luxury Catamaran Yacht

With the rapid development of China’s economy, luxury yachts as a symbol of identity and status of is more sought after by people. In the driving of this market demand, China’s yacht industry has been developing rapidly. However, the most current domestic manufacturers are too dependent on foreign technology and design. The independent research and development capabilities, relevant research institutions researched in modeling aspects of the yacht are obviously inadequate.Papers take the large luxury catamaran as the object of study, combine the law of the shape in the aesthetics of form, the application of color theory in perceptual intent and the ergonomics to conduct the practical study in luxury catamaran’s design. And as a particular luxury catamaran for example, it conducts a deeply analysis and research in its structure and shape to work out some guiding significance suggestions to the similar yacht design. The research summarized as follows:(1) Understand the development of the industry and related yacht design theory; research and analyze the development status of luxury catamaran shape in domestic and foreign; study and learn aesthetic rules, Color Kansei Engineering, ergonomics and other relevant theories’s application in the field of yacht.(2) Researching on Luxury catamaran modeling elements and their characteristics and needs of potential users. Firstly, researching luxury catamaran classification, style and design content; Second, by using the method of role models to analyze potential users’ lifestyle and consumer psychology of the luxury catamaran; then obtain the potential customers’ functional needs and psychological needs about luxury catamaran modeling .(3) By application study of the laws of aesthetics to analyze the bow, side, top, and stern linear of catamaran yacht shape , proposed the "force field" concept in the visual elements of catamaran yacht shape. From the perspective of the visual force characteristics analyzed catamaran shape ,obtained intrinsic link in the visual force and the inner parts of the yacht, as well as ,getted its effects on the overall shape. And it used the color sensibility intention experiment to analyze the color scheme of the catamaran yacht shape. Final, the papers concluded the certain guiding significance conclusions for the similar design of the yacht.(4) Based on the above work, expand the depth design for the target yacht.The theoretical conclusions are applied to the design of the yacht to guide architectural design. By sustained running between theory and practice, it completed the final design practical work successfully.
