With the development of industrial technology,for precision indexing worm drive,it has gotten higher requirements of meshing backlash.Firstly,worm drive can maintain good accuracy of transmission,after some time,due to friction between the worm and worm gear meshing backlash becomes larger.When the worm started or the rotational direction of it changed,the existence of meshing backlash leads to generate gap,so the movement of the worm can not be immediately transmitted to worm gear,after worm rotates a suitable angle,worm gear starts rotate,which resulted in the error of mechanical transmission.By increasing the accuracy to eliminate rotational error,it will greatly increase the cost.In this paper,the study is focused on a new German type anti-backlash OTT worm drive.Firstly,it analyzes the principle of a new type anti-backlash worm drive,and it is a detailed description of characteristics of a new type anti-backlash worm drive and makes comparisons between new and common worm drive.The parameters collected is not a complete,theoretically speaking,it conducts a comprehensive study on this particular worm drive,leading to a new set of relationships between the parameters and find other parameters.It is convenient to realize machining?analysis and localization.Secondly,contact ratio and carrying capacity of a new type anti-backlash worm drive are calculated.Using parametric function and the secondary development of UG to accurately model the worm drive,which can lay the foundation for the motion simulation and finite element analysis of the worm and worm gear.In accordance with the design requirements,a particular type of the new type anti-backlash worm drive reducer for the structural design.Finally,the use of ADAMS for the kinematics and dynamics simulation,which can obtain the input and output angular velocity curves and various force curves.Using ANSYS can analyze the contact state?stress and strain distribution of worm gear tooth in different meshing positions.
