In the construction industry,especially the construction design and management,computer aided design technology have become the norm.However,the growing construction demand often ahead of the technology development.A mature and perfect architecture not only need to meet the requirements of aesthetics and the functional requirements,but also need to satisfy the demand of human to the environment,such as the ventilation,lighting,thermal,acoustics and indoor air quality.Especially,if the architecture is special,the design should take these factors as the basicstarting point and important processing object.In such a complex environment,even the experienced architect also can't make the whole environmental quality assessment of the design through empirical analysis.Therefore,in such a certain conditions,the system based on Building Information Model(BIM)technology can deal with this problem well.This article starts with the current situation that the traditional computer aided architectural design,then studies how to make use of BIM to implement the intelligent of the building design and construction management,and paly an auxiliary role of computer in the construction industry.Around the home and aboard research of BIM,this paper summarizes the characteristic and development direction of the studies on the BIM from the improvement the theory on BIM,the latest technology,and the application of each field work.Based on the Zhejiang Shuren University Shaoxing Campus project,this paper introduces the comprehensive application of the architecture design,which is based on BIM,from the project summary,visual design,coordinated design and exquisite design.
