With the rapid development of transportation industry in China,the massive construction of all grades of road has brought a great lot of economic benefits.And the design,construction and maintenance of road have been facing higher requirements.Meanwhile,some areas were suffering the extreme weather such as floods due to rainstorm.A lot of rain caused huge pressure to the road drainage system.Some of the roads,which did not fully consider the design specifications of road and its drainage facilities,become a threat to the safety of people's lives and property.To the above problems,the road 3D modeling can be used to simulate the road terrain and drainage facilities during the design phase in order to improve the drainage capacity and reduce the disaster loss.However,the current road model is lack of the integrity of drainage facilities,and the common surface flow analysis is for natural surface model.So the analysis of road cannot be supported completely.Therefore,to consider all the road elements including drainage facilities of road model,this paper designs a proprietary road 3D model for the surface flow analysis of road as well as 3D visualization.By using the road design data including road drainage design data,the road 3D model is bulit for 3D visualization and surface flow analysis.And then the surface flow analysis can be done under the limit of the road drainage elements.The research contents and results of this paper mainly include:(1)Surface flow-oriented road 3D data modelBased on the road elements including drainage elements of the existing road models,a completed road model which are required for the surface flow analysis is designed.The semantic,geometry,attribute,spatial location and relationship information of road elements can be clearly described by the road model.(2)Road 3D modeling based on road design dataWith the full set of road design data(drawing set)as the data source,this paper sorts out the characteristics of the construction drawing data.and pays attention to the expression of the drainage facilities in the design data as well as the expression in the model.How to add drainage elements into road triangle network is also explored,which makes the road surface 3D model completed and suitable for not only the 3D visualization but also the surface flow analysis.(3)Surface flow analysis based on road 3D modelAccording to the road 3D model which are completed on the expression of road elements and drainage elements,the method of road surface flow analysis is found.The key to this method is how to analyse the surface flow under the limit of the drainage elements.In the end,the different flow conditions and influence are discussed through the surface flow network.The results show that,the surface flow-oriented road 3D model which is built by road design data can meet the dual requirements of visualization and analysis.This paper overcomes the defect of current road models which cannot support the surface flow analysis,and makes contribution to the design,construction,operation and maintenance of road.
