With rapid urban development,the advance of urbanization of China gradually has led the increase of flooding risk which threaten city road along the waterfront layout the most.Yet,the study of the flood control and landscape design of the urban road is not well developed.Thus,the idea of this research was came up by using the road in the urban waterfront road section for starting point,backed up with domestic and foreign literature review,field survey combining with the hydraulics theory knowledge,and based on the principle of the shore water section road flood control and landscape design.The main research object is take from waterfront road along the Suoxi River,Wulinyuan District in Zhandjiajie,Hunan.The study of the city waterfront road flood control function and its overall landscape design research,mainly embodies the following aspects:1.The relationship between road and water in the process of urban development through the review of the related articles home and aboard for relevant theories of the urban waterfront road in flood control section,transportation and the landscape design.It provides the theoretical basis for the research object;2.Exploreing the design methods of urban road based on the function of flood control and summarizes two types of slope protection:waterfront traditional revetment and ecology.And by adopting the calculation model of one dimension water flow,it obtains elevation line of flood water surface which will be compared with the elevation of flood control banks so as to obtain the layout of flood control section;3.After comprehensive consideration of the three elements-road,waterfront slope,slow trail,it discusses the methods of landscape design and traffic in urban road waterfront section.Combined with the design principles,the three elements are linked together organically so as to construct a landscape road with local characteristics in waterfront section based on the principle of people-oriented.4.An engineering example-Suoxi River,Wulinyuan District in Zhangjiajie,Hunan,is given to concretely illustrate the above research.This paper discusses the feasibility in terms of comprehensive consideration of flood control function and landscape design for urban road waterfront section;studies the design concept of urban road waterfront section based on flood control and landscape function with the relatively improved research methods being summarized.The rationality and feasibility of the project are proved by actual engineering cases.Finally it is hope that some of the theoretical measures and design ideas obtained in this paper will be helpful for researchers in the relevant fields in the future.
