In recent years,with the rapid development of China's social economy,residents income levels continue to increase,a large number of private cars into the residential area,parking is difficult,parking problems become increasingly prominent.The old residential area construction time earlier,parking spaces are inadequate,newly built residential areas parking berth number have been improved,but still cannot match with growing motor vehicle ownership.Residential area within parking problems forced some residents parking on the road outside the residential.In addition,the parking management outside the residential is not sufficient,the phenomenon of parked vehicles is becoming increasingly serious on the outside residential road,green resources,seriously reducing the road capacity,easily lead to traffic accidents.Therefore,how to solve the residential area parking problem is become the research important topic.This study first summarizes the current situation and existing problems of parking in urban residential areas,analyze the the causes of residential parking contradiction and the general rule of resident parking behavior,determine the parking behavior influence factor,design questionnaires and collect data,processing and analyze the result of the investigation.A multinomial logit model is established to study the parking choice behavior based on expect utility theory,describe the residents options for parking inside the residential areas,parking on the road outside the residential areas and parking inside the new public parking lot,use stata analysis software to estimate and test the model parameters,and introducing elasticity analysis.At last,with 10 typical old residential area and new residential area in Urumqi as a case,a parking choice multinomial logit model is used proposed in this study to analyze residents parking choice behavior,the validity of multinomial logit model is verified,for parking charge,walking distance to the corresponding elastic analysis,the impact which significant factors on the residential area of three parking choice probability is described quantitatively.Finally,the residential parking management recommendations are put forward,for managers to implement effective parking management measures to provide theoretical guidance and basis.
