Brake is the core component of the vehicle braking system,its role is to produce braking force to impede the movement of vehicles or movement trends,can be divided into drum and disc two types.The brake drum as the friction parts of drum brake,the friction coefficient of strength and rigidity of strict requirements should be high and stable and adequate wear resistance,heat resistance,heat dissipation and heat capacity,its reliability directly affects the safety of the vehicle.Heavy truck brake drum casting Limited traditional production methods in product design,process conditions and other quality needs to be improved;in recent years the application of a new type of composite brake drum production because of its light weight,high deformation resistance and excellent effect of life and touted by the market.In this paper,a new type of double metal brake drum for heavy duty truck is studied,which is based on the method of spinning and centrifugal casting:First,comparing with the development situation of domestic and foreign automobile brake drum,by analyzing the work principle of drum brake,brake drum working conditions and failure modes,the paper summarizes the research situation and key technology of the development of the brake drum,the heavy truck brake drum by the design of "spinning into type and centrifugal casting composite molding.Second,the double metal brake drum shell by spinning low carbon steel plate forming is expounded,determine the B380 CL material as the shell material composite brake drum,completed the design selection,process parameters of spinning equipment,achieve the brake drum shell shaped section and lightweight design of the target for the next step as a type of centrifugal casting the cavity to lay a good foundation.Third,to adjust and optimize the composition of the micro alloyed component of the gray cast iron matrix of the composite bimetal brake drum.In this paper,the high quality low carbon steel is used as the shell to spin and form a new type of brake drum,which is used to form a new type of composite structure.Fourth,the double metal brake drum set boundary conditions to carry out the finite element analysis,draw the conclusion: the dual metal brake drum of the maximum allowable stress and fatigue strength are significantly better than the traditional gray cast iron brake drum,but relatively large deformation.Considering the influence of the deformation on the dynamic balance of the brake drum,a new type of brake drum is optimized,and the control method of dynamic balance is improved.The result shows that the molding and centrifugal casting "double metal composite brake drum forming and achieve the desired objectives to improve product design,product of lighter weight,improved working conditions,temperature rise and thermal cracking has been effectively controlled,good comprehensive performance,with obvious economic and social benefits.The research work of this paper provides some reference value for the development of the new type brake drum compound forming technology.
