With the rapid development of high-grade highway construction in Guangdong Province,the construction of natural resources consumption is increasing,especially in the region has been the lack of excessive reliance on basalt,so that the quality of the neutral stone will dry up,further exacerbated the basalt of the tight supply,resulting in stone prices continued to rise,for the region’s road construction has brought adverse effects.The current territory of Guangdong found diorite,has proven reserves of large,fully able to meet the use of Guangdong Province and the surrounding cities.Based on the practical engineering application,this paper compares the physical and chemical indexes of the three kinds of stone-basalt,diorite and granite,and the road performance of the asphalt mixture,which is commonly used in southern China.The use of performance,argumentation of diorite in the highway anti-skid layer of asphalt concrete in the application of the possibility.Firstly,the physical and chemical indexes,the adsorption properties of asphalt and rock,the road performance and mechanical properties of asphalt mixture were analyzed and compared by using the granite,basalt and diorite rocks.Secondly,after optimization,the optimum grade of asphalt mixture of four kinds of asphalt mixture,such as basalt,diorite,granite and granite,was determined by Marshall test under the same gradation condition.Once again,on the basis of the best amount of different rocks and asphalt,the tests were carried out under the conditions of high temperature stability,water stability,compressive modulus and splitting tensile strength,and non-standard conditions.The analysis of the system to a comprehensive analysis of different types of rock on the use of asphalt pavement performance and the impact of construction technology to guide the construction of asphalt pavement.Finally,through the engineering practice of specific expressway project,a series of objective and effective detection and evaluation methods are used to comprehensively verify the practical application effect of diorite in asphalt pavement.It is feasible to use diorite as the aggregate for anti-skid layer of asphalt pavement of expressway,and the quality of mixed asphalt mixture is controllable,and the application effect is good in practical engineering.The results of this study can provide experimental basis and technical guidance for the use of diorite as a kind of asphalt surface aggregate in the similar expressway project in South China,and expand the selection range of asphalt mixture aggregate,which is beneficial to increase the economy of expressway project.
