Transparent magnesium aluminate spinel(42OMgAl)has characteristics of high strength, excellent heat-resistant properties,at the same time it's optical properties is perfect. In recent years, the development of optoelectronic technology and progress is very fast,as an optical material,it is more and more widely used in the field of optics, especially in the infrared optical system, the frequency of its use is increasing, with a substantial increase in demand,we also put forward more stringent requirements on the surface quality. This paper analyzes the characteristics of transparent magnesium aluminate spinel materials, aiming at the hardness of magnesium aluminate spinel material and the low efficiency of processing difficulty, according to ductile grinding mechanism of Preston theory and the processing of hard brittle materials, through the contrast experiment, the paper studies the factors that affect the processing technology of magnesium aluminate spinel, and makes a comparison between the milling and polishing process parameters.Computer-controlled molding technology(CCOS)is formed on the surface of spinel for processing molding technology, and finally through the Taylor Hobson contour detector for detecting the results of processing,to determine the feasibility of magnesium aluminate spinel process, the Surface quality and machining efficiency are improved effectively. The testing result shows that the surface figure of the ?62mm magnesium aluminate spinel aspheric lens is 1.1455 ?m,its center deviation is within 1 ?m,the degree of finish can be above the grade of grade III,the requirements are achieved.
