At present,our country's highway construction has entered the stage of large-scale maintenance.In order to maintain or improve the traffic conditions on the roads and slow down the road damage,preventive maintenance technology has been widely used in many domestic road maintenance engineering.The asphalt chip seal,as a kind of quick,efficient,low-cost and simple pavement preventive maintenance technology,has been widely applied in pavement maintenance engineering.Therefore,this article will analyze the application of the asphalt chip seal coat in pavement maintenance engineering from its adaptability,influencing factors,maintenance time and service life.This study focuses on the applicable conditions of the asphalt chip seals by using ABAQUS.The applicable condition of asphalt chip seal is put up based on the strenghth and the distress of the old pavement structure.At the same time,the paper analyzes the influencing factors and regularity of asphalt chip seals' pavement performance.On the basis,the paper explores the selection issue of the best maintenance time of asphalt chip seal.According to the road maintenance project Hu-Lu line in GuiZhou Province,it uses the method of benefit cost evalution to determine the optimal maintenance time of asphalt chip seals.Finally,the service time of pavement structure is determined by using the deterioration model of pavement structure which uses calibrated parameters with the possible influence of traffic volume,environental factors,and the Shang-Rui road maintenance engineering in Guizhou province.This paper provides an indicative reference for the application of asphalt chip seal in pavement maintenance engineering.
