Steel bridge,which has short construction period,large clearance,long span,good stability and other significant advantages,has been used more and more with the improvement of the steel and the design theory of the steel bridge.So far,there are four kind of deck pavement technologies which are SMA,the double-layer SMA,double layer epoxy asphalt concrete EA and the ERS.However,the existing pavement system always appears early rutting,cracking,bulging,delamination and other diseases due to the large deformation and high temperature of the steel bridge.This paper studied the design proposal of the high modulus and toughness of asphalt mixture pavement on the basis of the analysis of steel deck environment.And analysed the high temperature performance,low temperature performance,fatigue performance and water damage performance through the tests of high temperature rutting,dynamic modulus,dynamic creep,low temperature bending and four point bending fatigue.Finally,the technical indexes of the high modulus and toughness asphalt mixture were put forward according to the condition of the deck pavement and the most used materials for the steel bridge deck pavement of the seasonal frost area.The results shows that: The steel bridge deck pavement system proposed in this paper can give consideration to both high and low temperature performance,and has broad application prospects.It is an economic and environmental protection technology program.The compound modification of rubber powder and asphalt concrete high modulus additive is effective for the GG-5 of asphalt mixture.GG-5 has a good ability to prevent water seepage,high temperature performance,low temperature performance,fatigue performance which are all better than the cast asphalt concrete GA and SMA asphalt concrete.The construction technology of GG-5 is simple,with quality easily controlled and low cost,it has good economic benefits;at the same time,it utilizes waste rubber tires and prolongs the service life of deck pavement,resulting in the greatly reduced of bridge deck pavement maintenance,so it has significant social benefits.
