Asphalt pavement on Portland cement concrete bridge deck is the architecture which is exposed to the external environment and affected by the external environment.Especially in the hot and rainy areas,the asphalt pavement could easily be destroyed by deform and rain wash within the design life under rainwater and hot weather,which not only shorten the service life of asphalt pavement but also let the rebar corrosion endanger the bridge.In this thesis,the asphalt pavement on the cement concrete bridge deck which in the hot and rainy areas was studied by investigation,mechanical analysis,asphalt test and asphalt mixture test.The main contents and conclusions of this thesis are as follows.Firstly,the pavement disease on the cement concrete bridge deck was investigated,and the common damage types of bridge deck pavement were recognized and summarized in this part.Through the investigation,it was known that the asphalt pavement of bridge deck under hot and humid conditions was very prone to deform disease and rain washing disease.By reviewed relevant literature to analyze the causes of the disease,it was proposed to use Stone Matrix Asphalt(SMA)concrete on the surface layer of the bridge deck pavement to mitigate the disease related to the water,and to use High Modulus Asphalt Concrete(HMAC)on the lower layer to increase the stability in the hot weather.By using finite element software to model the bridge deck pavement,it was calculated that the high modulus asphalt concrete which has high modulus and can resist the deform well that could reduce the force burden for surface layer and water membrane.So HMAC is suitable for use in the lower layer.Secondly,the asphalt which needed to the lower layer was be studied.A group of asphalt was be made ready for routine performance test to select the asphalt which can agree to the low label asphalt.Through the rheological test,choose the asphalt that suits for lower layer on the cement concrete bridge deck best.The study found that the asphalt mixed by 40% 70# and 60% hard asphalt meets the requirements of the specification and has more Superpave rutting parameter and more calculate average percent recovery.Fourier infrared spectrometer showed that more asphaltene in the low label asphalt is the main reason for its excellent high temperature performance.Finally,the asphalt concrete which on the cement concrete bridge deck was be studied.Found that HMAC-16 can be applied to the lower layer in the hot and rainy areas which has excellent high temperature stability,water stability,modulus and fatigue performance.Found that SMA-13 can be applied to the surface layer in the hot and rainy areas which has brilliant water stability and rut resistance.The performance of asphalt pavement on the cement concrete bridge deck was be improved and be suitable to hot and rainy area which has better economic benefit after reform of the pavement.According to previous research,the design and technical standard which apply to the asphalt bridge deck pavement in hot and rainy area has been built to fill in the gaps of the related filed.
