At this stage,there is not the complete and mature seismic design theory for the large span and high pier continuous rigid frame bridge structure.So the continuous girder bridge seismic design method and design theory for small or medium span and low pier bridge can only be for the reference.The seismic performance research work was carried out for one certain large span continuous rigid frame bridge in this paper.Firstly the dynamic characteristics analysis for this bridge was conducted,which the result preliminarily showed double thin-wall pier structural style was the better choice.Secondly the response spectrum analysis and the linear time history response analysis were researched for this large span continuous rigid frame bridge respectively with single thin-wall pier and double thin-wall pier structural style,then the bridge structure system was optimized from the seismic design perspective of bridge structure through the comparison study of the two analysis results.Thirdly the seismic performance for the bridge was researched with different elastic-plastic restoring force models and with four different loading methods.At last some general rules and conclusions about the elastic-plastic seismic response analysis and pushover analysis were acquired,which provides some references for large span continuous rigid frame bridge.Through the research we can acquire that for large span continuous rigid frame bridge,double thin-wall pier structure shows a better seismic performance compared with the single thin-wall pier structure.Elastic-plastic time history response analysis method and pushover analysis method are two kinds of effective seismic analysis methods for large span continuous rigid frame bridge and the reasonable performance evaluation of large span continuous rigid frame bridge can be acquired Through reasonable seismic design and analysis for the project,the bridge seismic performance can be greatly improved which meets the requirements of the corresponding specifications.
