Research On The Design Of The Scenic Natural History Museum Based On Permeability

Natural history museum is an essential type of exhibition architecture.As an important place for citizens' general entertainment and social education,natural history museum is now under rapid development in China,and there is a tendency of evolving into open,experiential,green and ecological.Natural history museum in tourist exhibition is a combination of travel attraction and exhibition,which aims to help the research and show the physical feature,culture and history of those areas,and in the meantime,meet the demand of tourists who are eager to have a general knowledge the natural and cultural background of those places.Those museums can be regarded as a bridge between people and the nature in those regions.Apart from the unique location,the close relationship between exhibition items and the feature of the specific place is also the crucial peculiarity of natural museums in tourist zone.Therefore,the way to balance architecture,natural environment and people properly is supposed to be a significant factor when architects designing that type of architecture.Permeability is a concept theory from traditional Chinese architecture,though it might have some similarity to 'gray space' of Japanese architecture and 'free-flowing spaces' of modern western architecture,there is still something distinguish it from them.The meaning of permeability the exchanging and connection of contents and programs in different space.The formation of permeability includes physical space factor,dynamic natural factor and emotional feeling of people in that system.So essentially,the design of natural museum based on permeability will be helpful to the discussion of relationship among museum,visitors and surroundings,In this paper,I have taken natural museum in tourists attraction as the research topic,summarized and classified existing research literature,and meanwhile have done several onsite research to reference cases both in China and abroad.The concept and scope of research has been clarified in the paper,and according to its external environment and internal program,the feature of natural museum in tourist attraction has been concluded.The contents of research has never been restricted to architectural scope,but has been widen to the architecture urban planning and exhibition,which referred to the permeable relationship of architecture,nature and people.The macro permeable strategy of urban planning would be considered from location layout,program definition and traffic system.The mesoscopic permeable strategy of architectural design would be considered from architectural facade,space and circulation organization.And at last,The micro permeable strategy of exhibition design would be considered from visitors,exhibits and the method of display.Hope this paper can provided some value as a reference for natural history design for tourist attraction.
