The masonry structure has many advantages,such as the low cost,wide material source,good durability,the convenient processing and so on.According to the preliminary statistics,masonry structure was accounted for more than 80% of the China's various types housing construction.However,the masonry structure has poor tension,flexural strength and shear capacity,leading to the poor anti-seismic performance,which can cause that masonry structure was badly damaged in the earthquake.To enhance the anti-seismic performance of masonry structure,this paper proposed a new anti-seismic strengthening method that named internal steel sheet and polymer mortar surface strengthening method.The damage of the masonry structure in the earthquake was always due to the poor shear strength.In addition,the walls take on the shear failure.To simulate the damaging form of wall under earthquake,this experiment adopted four-bar linkage.This paper considered two factors: the strength of mortar(M1?M2.5?M5?M7.5)and reinforcement form(orthogonal reinforcement,slope reinforcement).There were 12 walls in total,including contrast unstrengthened walls,orthogonal reinforcement walls and slope reinforcement walls.We conducted the shorten cycle repeated pseudo-static testing,described the test process in detail and analyzed the damaging form.Compared load and displacement,ductility factor,skeleton curve,curves of stiffness degradation,energy dissipation coefficient and other anti-seismic performance indexes,we analyzed comprehensively anti-seismic performance of the reinforcement walls.The test data showed that the reinforcement method was feasible,could greatly enhance the anti-seismic performance of the wall.The damaging form of the reinforcement walls got obvious improvement and showed three kinds of damage stages.The eventual damaging cannot cause the wall collapsed.The masonry mortar with different intensity has a little effect on the ultimate load of slope reinforcement walls.The slope reinforcement method has great reinforced effect for M1 walls.The effect of slope reinforcement method on the remaining walls has been improved compared with the orthogonal reinforcement method,but the improvement range was limited.This reinforcement method provides a new solution for anti-seismic strengthening of brick masonry structure,which is a kind of reinforcement method that can be promoted in large scale.
