The belt drive mechanism is an important branch of mechanical transmission.The mechanism has the advantages of low cost,simple structure,overload protection and convenient maintenance.At present,the belt drive mechanism used by factories is that the driven pulley and driving pulley are concentrically installed with the shaft,separately,so that the driving pulley and the driven pulley rotate with uniform rotation.A belt drive mechanism with the driven pulley eccentrically installed was developed in this paper.The feature of the mechanism is that,when the driving pulley rotates as a constant speed,the driven pulley rotates at a periodically varying speed.The study proved that,applying this kind of mechanism as the driving mechanism of the coiler not only meets the requirement of coiling,but also has the advantages of the high utilization ratio for the sliver can,in addition to that,the litter mouse problem that the short fibers and impurities of the sliver accumulated and formed a piece of dirty fasciculus will also be avoided.The equation of the motion of variable speed belt drive mechanism was established first.Then,this mechanism was used as the driving mechanism of the coiler.Driven by this mechanism,the coiler can also achieve a motion with periodically varying speed.Hence,the problem of litter mouse will be solved.At last,following the motion rule of the driven eccentric pulley,the initial position of the driven pulley should be appropriately adjusted to ensure that the coiler rotates fast when the coiler outlet approaches the center of the sliver can,and rotates slowly as the coiler outlet approaches the sliver can wall.In this way,the density of the sliver along the diameter direction of the sliver can is more uniform.This mean the capacity of the sliver can will increase.
