Container reach stacker,reach stacker for short,is a type of construction machinery that is used to load,unload,stack and handle container with high maneuverability and efficiency.It’s widely used in container yard like port,dock and railway freight,etc.With special curve-shaped telescopic mechanism,reach stacker will get larger workspace,which improve the stacking efficiency of container.However,the research on the telescopic mechanism,especially its driving mechanism is limited now.Therefore,it’s very meaningful to design a kind of telescopic mechanism with the ability to extend and retract when stacking container which will promote the work efficiency.In this paper,curve-shaped telescopic mechanism of container reach with 45 t lifting capacity is taken as research object,and a telescopic mechanism that has been proven to be effective is designed and studied.Main research contents in this paper are as follows:(1)3 curve-shaped telescopic mechanism designs are given based on summarizing a variety of telescopic mechanism on different types of crank,transmission of construction elevator and recreational equipment.Through the comparison and analysis,2cylinders-1slider design is determined according to actual work requirement.(2)Minimum arc radius is conformed after analyzing 4 typical lifting conditions.3D model is established by SolidWorks software and dynamic interference is checked in SolidWorks Motion.As a result,the 2cylinders-1slider design is proven to be effective.Then the strength is verified in circumstance of 4 typical lifting conditions by ANSYS software and the structure thickness of each boom is determined.(3)Statics method is used to derive the formula of telescopic hydraulic cylinder actuator force when the telescopic boom extends and retracts.And the cylinder actuator force equation is obtained.(4)Parameterization rigid dynamic models of curve-shaped telescopic mechanism of container reach stacker is established and simulated in ADAMS.Design study function in ADAMS is used to optimize the joint location of telescopic hydraulic cylinders solve the problems of arrangement of cylinders with the objective of getting the trends of actuator force and the best joint location of cylinders.Then the best joints locations are obtained.At the end of this paper,the effectiveness of cylinder actuator force equation is verified by a practical example.
