The function of modern architectures is becoming more and more comprehensive,the architectural appearance is increasingly diverse and the structure of buildings is becoming more and more complicated.Therefore,the spatial analysis of the structure is very valuable in scientific research.Frame system has been applied extensively in practice.Multi-layer frame structure has become one of the ten construction technology which are widely promoted.At present,the study of structures by semi-rigid connections is mostly focused on the plane frames.But the research on spatial structural analysis of semi-rigid connections is rarely involved.Therefore,there is an urgent need to form the integrated theoretic system of semi-rigid connections.Based on the comparative analysis about various design method to semi-rigid connections,a mechanical model and analytic method are proposed,in which,the axial,the shearing and the bending semi-rigid characteristics of space frames are taken into account.The model is composed of a bar element,three spiral springs and another three transitional springs with zero distance at each end.In this paper,the matrix displacement method is used in element analysis and structural analysis.The stiffness matrix,some equivalent nodal force vectors of element,the relationship between the displacement of the joint and the displacement of the bar end are derived.The entire balance equations of space frames composed by this kind of element are also obtained.In this paper,the example is calculated and analyzed using the both programs VB and Matlab.These two kinds of computer language program are applicable to linear analysis of general semi-rigid connections in space frame structure.An example is given to verify the correctness and rationality of the programmed program.Compared the calculation results of the both forms of the same example,it can be seen that the effect of semi-rigid connections on the overall performance of space frame is obvious.The results of this paper can provide theoretical basis for theapplication and development of spatial semi-rigid connections structure.
