There are many forms of tall steel structures, however frame structure is the most basal one.The traditional analysis and design of steel frame assume beam-to-column connections are fully rigid connection or ideal pin connection. In fact, the behaviors of beam-to-column connections are between to fully rigid connection and ideal pin connection, and belong to semi-rigid connection. If the beam-to-column connections are assumed fully rigid connection, the constraint action of joint is magnified and the structure lean to unsafe;If the beam-to-column connections are assumed ideal pin connection, the constraint action of joint is neglected.Therefore,the influences of semi-rigid connection on steel frame structure are fully taken into account in the analysis and design of steel frame.The influence of semi-rigid node on deformation of mufti-story frame is studied in this paper.References on analysis and calculation of semi-rigid node frame are provided through research the relationship between rotational stiffness and deformation.Firstly, four kinds of semi-rigid node are designed and experiment of circle load on node is made, M—θ curve and rotational stiffness of every node are achieved according to experimental data. Secondly, analysis method of semi-rigid frame considered second-order analysis is discussed in this paper. Element Stiffness matrix of semi-rigid connection at the end of beam and element stiffness matrix of beam and column included geometry stiffness matrix are offered. Finally, by using the nonlinear finite element program named ANSYS program the two finite element model are created, one is same span and seven-story frame, the other is different span and seven-story steel frame. The rotation stiffness of four group of semi-rigid connection obtained from test results are introduced to the semi-rigid steel frame, the force performance and deformation analysis of two steel frame models are carried out. The influence laws of semi-rigid connection on deformation are obtained.
