Semi-rigid joints in steel frames compared to the rigid joints have good seismic performance, but many factors that the constructor impact of the stiffness of the node. Therefore, it is necessary depth research and analysis of semi-rigid connection node. The extended end plate connections as the actual project a more typical semi-rigid connection, the paper is its object of study. At present, the overhang end-plate connections on the detailed structure, foreign and domestic differences. Domestic practice for the local reinforcement in the flange of the steel frame column, set the backplane to strengthen foreign practices in the steel frame column. This article focused on these two different tectonic semi-rigid joints, the use of large general-purpose finite element software ANSYS, three-dimensional solid half node just to make contact with nonlinear static state nonlinear analysis. The three series of models, model calculations are not taken to strengthen steel frame, steel frame with flange local reinforcement steel framework set backplane to strengthen, there are differences in semi-rigid joints mechanical properties of these three types of construction and joint stiffness. In the selected operating conditions, considering the material nonlinearity, contact with non-linear static calculation. On the basis of the calculation results, describe the semi-rigid joints in steel box girder, steel box column, end plates, bolts, stiffeners, stress, strain; compare three types of semi-rigid joints different failure modes, stress, strain, deformation, depth analysis of the weak parts of the node. Discusses the stiffeners, end plates, bolts, column flange backplane to strengthen the local thickening of the column flange structure practice to the point of force performance, compared to construct semi-rigid joints force performance difference, according to the calculation results to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of two kinds of practical construction practices, and its conclusions for engineering practice.
