The explosion of shale gas in the United States has led to a boom in global shale gas development.China is rich in shale gas resources and has great development prospects. In recent years,China’s growing energy demand, energy is still too high, external dependency to alleviate national energy crisis, improve the energy structure, development of shale gas industry is imperative. However, the development of shale gas is a highly intensive water process, the use of hydraulic fracturing mining needs a lot of water resources as the support, and can lead to water shortage, water pollution, air pollution, noise pollution, and cause many environmental problems, such as earthquake. At present, our country is actively planning the shale gas industry development, mainly focused on promoting the development of shale gas production and synergistic technology research and development, and has carried on the shale gas resource exploration and evaluation, preliminary but for shale gas development and the environmental impact of attention is not enough. In light of this, the analysis of the capacity of water resources in the development of shale gas is necessary. This paper first comprehensive storage structure characteristics, the characteristics of the shale gas development, combination of shale gas development life cycle stages, approach and pollutants from water resource consumption and pollution features outlined the water resources of shale gas may cause. From shale gas impact on water resources, combining with the development and utilization of water resources, population, rainfall changes of time and space, shale gas resource storage and so on comprehensive evaluation of water resources constraint, the selected Water Stress Index, underground water pollution risk, population density, the interannual variability of rainfall, the main water industry, resource storage depth method of combining the six indexes,to reflect the status of water resources constraints. Finally using principal component analysis(pca)for water resources in shale gas bearing influence the cause and trend, and converting index analysis of the status quo of water resources carrying condition, for the next step of planning and development, provide reference basis for water resources protection.Based on the analysis of Chongqing, the results show that the requirement of water demand is not much. The total amount of water that is required for the overall development of the water resource is not small, but the proportion of the total water use is very large, such as the city gate or even more than the total water consumption.Under the present situation, although the exploration area water resource constraints are small, but,as in the case of not properly arrange the water supply production, will be caused great threat to the local life.In the past 10 years, the capacity of water resources in Chongqing has decreased year by year, and the water resources use more and more pressure.Based on the analysis of carrying capacity, the city of Chongqing in 2014 compared the amount of water with the total amount of water controlled by the total amount of water used in the total amount of water, and the total amount of water was not overloaded. The four experimental shale gas extraction zones,Xiushan,Qianjiang,Youyang and Chengkou are not overloaded, and have a good prospect for developing shale gas.Integrated water resource constraints and carrying capacity analysis, combining the shale gas horizontal well fracturing fluid handling the latest technology, from ease water shortages and solve the water pollution prevention and control, development of new technology of shale gas, establishing environmental impact assessment system and emergency plan, etc.,proposes the research block shale gas development of water resources protection countermeasures.
