The failure process of adaptive slit shear wall developing from integral wall into slit wall with adaptive joint characteristics.The normal use stage has the advantages of large rigidity,good seismic performance,less consumption of steel and convenient construction.This paper focuses on the mechanical properties of different horizontal steel adaptive slit shear walls,the main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)Based on the pseudo-static test of three adaptive slit shear walls with different horizontal reinforcements,the failure process and modes are discussed.The result shows that the failure mode can be changed by configuring cold-formed steel in the shear walls to avoid brittle fracture,and the shear walls have adaptive slit performance.The failure process of adaptive slit shear wall developing from integral wall into slit wall.Before the peak load for the integral wall,the peak load after the evolution of the slit wall,the stress characteristics and failure mode with adaptive joint characteristics.(2)To study the mechanical performance of the adaptive slit shear wall and the connection performance of the vertical joint,parameters such as hysteretic curve,bearing capacity,ductility,stiffness,energy-dissipating capacity,and the relative deformation between the vertical joint.Meanwhile,the effect of horizontal steel bars on the performance of adaptive slit shear walls is analyzed.The result shows that the amount of horizontal steel bars can effect on cracking development.The paper also proves that as the horizontal reinforcements increased,the shear capacity,yield displacement angle and peak displacement angle are also improvement,but energy dissipation capacity is reduced.The formulas of shear capacity for shear walls in current codes are suitable for the adaptive slit shear walls.(3)The finite element model of the adaptive slit shear wall is established by the ABAQUS,the program calculation results and the experimental results were in good agreement.The model was proved reasonable sufficiently,which could provide the theoretical basis and technical support for the next research.
