Currently, living environment is deteriorating in our country. The efficiency of traditional construction industry is low.Building construction industry is now experiencing a transitional period which leads to energy conservation, environment protection,high-quality and highefficiency. In order to promote social and economic sustainable development in China, improving the efficiency and quality of the production of the building construction industry, reducing energy consumption and waste of resources has become a consensus as the developing and upgrading technical of the related industry and the integration of green building construction technology with the development of industrialization.Lightweight steel construction system has become the focus in the industrialization of green building because of its light weight, fine structure stress, wide applicability, and the stable characteristics of the industrial technology. In China,Lightweight steel system architecture started late,so most of the related theory and technology referenced from the experiences of Europe,North America,Australia and other places.A number of project practices are leaded by suppliers of building materials of lightweight steel building products,a few architects also used this system in practice. However,China's territory distributed in various regions, the feature of climates are totally different from Europe, the United States and other places. The completed projects guided by introduction of foreign lightweight steel construction technical appear many problems, such as low-heat preservation and heat insulation of wall, easy cracking and easy moisture in damp, etc. Therefore, research based on regional passive building external wall of lightweight steel system design is particularly important. This paper sorted four key points of the lightweight steel building system, the composites of material facades, structure type, pipeline integration and mode of construction which illustrated that lightweight steel building exterior wall system is of diversified possibilities through searching current documents and data.At the same time,task-oriented design, options of technical conditions and climate adaptation, three strategies for system of lightweight steel building exterior wall design has been put forward to practice in different geographical environment which provides design guidance. In addition, analysis based on hot and humid area in Guangzhou as an example discussed that the external wall of the lightweight steel construction system can adapt to the requirements of passive house in hot and humid climate through noun-thermal bridge insulation system, compound climate skin and optimization of heat storage performance.;Thus summarizing strategies to improve the durability of the lightweight steel building system through composites of external wall material and structural treatment.Ultimately, comes to the conclusion that external wall of CISCA experiment room is a feasible technology route by comparing three kinds of lightweight steel building wall used in hot and humid areas via analysis and software simulation in comprehensive consideration of durability and passive energy-saving performance. In conclusion, the paper demonstrates essential factors of external wall of passive houses based on lightweight steel construction system in hot and humid area to provide theoretical basis and technical route guidance for application of lightweight steel building in hot and humid area, thus promoting building industrialization and green building technology integration in order to transform the construction industry in hot and humid area and other places.
