The Study Of Wetland Park Design Of The Pearl River Delta On The Purpose Of Protecting Waterfowls

The Convention on Wetlands,Convention of Wetlands of International Importance Especially as Waterfowl Habitats,defined the significance of wetlands and wildlife,in particular waterfowl protection.Since the accession of the Convention in 1992,the protection and restoration of wetlands has been progressing rapidly.The establishment of a wetland park is one of the positive ways to encourage public participation on the basis of protecting the wetland ecology.However,previous studies focused on constructing landscape and paid few attention to its core objectives.Lack of protection at the regional level,and excessive tourism development made survival of waterfowl harder and harder.Locating on the important waterfowl migration route of the world,the Pearl River Delta region has the potential to develop wetland parks,for its marvelous and intensive water network.This research,based on the protection of waterfowl habitat is of great significance to both waterfowl protection and wetland construction.To balance the protection and the development of wetland parks and to create a harmonious scene between mankind and waterbirds,I took the Pearl River Delta region as the research scope to explore the design strategy of wetland park building,with waterfowl ecology as the breakthrough point and the core.The first step is to digest the relevant theories,including but not only waterfowl-related ecology theory,waterbird flyway initiatives and wetland management plans at home and aboard,two key factors affecting the habitat of waterfowl were obtained: habitat nature and human disturbance,a guide to the next field research.Analyzing the present situation,we got the trend and existing problems of recent wetland park construction.Considering park grade,waterfowl condition,wetland type and human disturbance,the Deep Bay was selected for further analysis and the design experience is obtained.With the ecology theory and design experience above,I attempted to summarize the design strategy of the Pearl River Delta wetland park,including the choice of concentric circle mode,functional partition ratio,water level settings,sound environment control,plant space and so on.Based on the theory of focale species,select little egret(Egretta garzetta)and Eurasian Wigeon(Anas penelope)as the focus species,to explore the design pattern of waterfowl habitat.Finally,apply the strategy and model to analyze and evaluate the current situation and future master plan of Bird Paradise Scenic in Xinhui,Jiangmen and put forward three suggestions on space,cruise route and management.By 2020,the Pearl River Delta will add at least 55 wetland parks.Holding the concept of ecological priority,it worths looking forward to take wetland parks as the carrier for waterfowl protection,and to use the waterbird as the protection object to guide the wetland park construction meantime,in order to balance the ecological protection of waterbirds and leisure needs in the current construction trend.
