V2V(Vehicle-to-Vehicle)communication is one of the main communication modes of Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks(VANET).However, the rapid movement of vehicles,he changing network topology, and the presence of other problems such as obstacles make the communication links between vehicles are unreliable and very inefficient. The position-based routing protocols are more suitable for V2 V communication which is changing dynamically. However, due to the lack of real-time perception of connectivity and topology changes of the road segments, the chosen route may be locally optimal. The characteristics that vehicles move fast make the communication link disconnect frequently. At the same time, these protocols do not take into account the different requirements of QoS.In order to solve the above problems, this thesis first introduces the V2 V communication and related routing protocols, especially the position-based routing protocols. The related domestic and foreign research works of the postion-based routing protocols as well as existing problems are introduced. Then, the key technologies of V2 V handover management are studied to solve these problems and an improved Mobility-awared Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing(MA-GPSR)is proposed. The handover scheme between the roads of MA-GPSR protocol focuses on road information collection mechanism and road evaluation scheme, analyzes the interruption moment of communication link of the road segment, and switches to the better road segment timely when the link is disconnected. On the other hand,MA-GPSR has a one hop handover scheme between vehicles. This scheme decides when to handover through the perception and calculation of mobility information of vehicles which are divided into four types, and selects the best target vehicle to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of V2 V communication according to the QoS requirements of services and the distances between communicating vehicles. Finally, the MA-GPSR protocol and some existing location-based routing protocols are simulated and analyzed. The results show that the performance of MA-GPSR is better than others',and the MA-GPSR can adapt to the dynamically changing V2 V communication.
