Seismic isolation has the abilit y to improve the seismic performance of structures by protecting both structural and non-structural elements.The triple friction pendulum bearing exhibit enough energy-dissipating capacity and displacement capability.The triple friction pendulum is completely passive devices,yet exhibit adaptive stiffness and adaptive damping over different hazard levels.The potential benefits of the triple friction pendulum bearing conform to the basic requirements of performance-based design.Hence,this article analyze the effects of variation of parameters of bearing on seismic response of superstructure,and develop a new “three-level” triple friction pendulum bearing.The main contributions are described in the following aspects:(1)Based on great amount of domestic and broad references,the development and research situation and engineering applications of friction pendulum bearing are introduced,the research significance,research direction and research method are determined.(2)The principles of operation and force-displacement relationships of triple pendulumn bearing are introduced,and the methods of modeling triple friction pendulumn are given.At last,the series model is used in this paper.(3)Effects of variation of parameters of bearing on hysteretic behavior are analyzed by modeling in SAP2000.The results show that the isolation performance of different type of triple friction pendulum is controlled by different parameters.(4)The force-displacement relationships of “three-level” triple pendulumn bearing is presented,and the effectiveness of isolatio n of the isolated building wit h “three-level” triple friction pendulum is calculated.The results show that the effectiveness of isolation of the “three-level” triple friction pendulum is increasing with the increase of earthquake intensity.Based on above research,it is helpful in design of the triple friction pendulumn and the parameters optimization of tiple friction pendulumn over different hazard levels and conducive to research and application of triple friction pendulum bearing.
